Major steps of online application submission by the applicants are as follows:
Start filling in a new form;
Fill in the information and upload documents as required in the online application;
Submit the online application form and provide an email address to receive the acknowledgement receipt generated by Online Application System;
Print/download the submitted form; and
Record the Transaction Reference Number from the acknowledgement receipt for future communication.

(a) photo of the Applicant taken full face and without a hat; (b) photocopy of the Applicant’s travel document, showing his/her personal particulars, nationality (if any), residential status in his/her country of residence (if he/she is not a national of the country), re-entry visa to the country (if applicable), and date of issue and expiry of the travel document; (c) a duly completed Net Assets Statement; and (d) a Fulfillment document issued by a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) (Practising) as defined in the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council Ordinance (Cap. 588 of the Laws of Hong Kong)#. | (a) a duly completed Permissible Investment Assets Statement; (b) a Fulfillment document issued by a CPA (Practising) as defined in the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council Ordinance (Cap. 588 of the Laws of Hong Kong)#; (c) statements issued by the appointed financial intermediary(ies) showing the Applicant’s investment in Permissible investment assets under the New CIES; (d) should the Applicant invest in real estate, proof of acquisition and relevant documents, e.g. Land Registry record, etc.; and (e) all relevant supporting documents stated in the Fulfillment document, including but not limited to the documents in paragraphs (c) and (d) above, e.g. bank statements or letters, documents proving fulfillment of all the conditions of Holding Company, etc., assisted in demonstrating the Applicant’s fulfillment of the Investment Requirements under the New CIES. |
#No more than 14 calendar days may elapse between the date of issue of the Fulfillment document and the date the Applicant lodges his/her application.
The Net Assets Statement/Permissible Investment Assets Statement uploaded on the online application forms should be the scanned copy of the original which has been signed on every single page by the Applicant. For other documents relevant to the application, they should be the scanned copy of the original or photocopies certified true by the Applicant.
Upon receipt of the online application for Net Asset Assessment with relevant information and documents required (including the Fulfillment document and Net Assets Statement), the New CIES Office will allocate an Application Reference Number to the Applicant, and send the application acknowledgement email containing the Application Reference Number to the Applicant. In the subsequent submission of the online application for Assessment on Investment Requirements, the Applicant can input either this Application Reference Number, or the Transaction Reference Number received from the acknowledgement receipt of online application for Net Asset Assessment.
